250 to Sturgis

It is now time for the Captain to take his Ninja 250 and drive it the 600 odd miles to Sturgis. Stops along the way will include the metropolis of Windom, the city center known as Adrian and who can forget the cultural mecca of Murdo?!

Posting will be infrequent as it is hard to blog on a motorcycle.

Wish me luck and that I do not hit any deer or moose-raccoons.

Moosae are the worst. My buddy hit one with his car once, and the damn thing shit all over the passenger seat.

A 250 rice-rocket to sturgis?

Wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've seen.

Will miss Sturgis this year, regrettably, but the proportion of sport-bike guys is steadily increasing.

Ride safe, have fun at the Buffalo Chip if that's your speed.

I knew a guy once who smoked on a motorcycle, he was a sight to behold as he roared down the road with a cigarette tip glowing bright orange clenched between his teeth. I bet he could have blogged if it had been invented then.

Not the fastest or most stylish choice in the Ninja250, but I'm sure it gets the job done.

I'm picturing you laughing at all the people there who'll try to look down on you for spending 10-15k more on their rides to reach the same speed limit, with poorer mileage.

I didn't know that they even made Ninjas that small...I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 500cc cruiser that apparently shares the same engine as the Ninja. Big, heavy and comfortable, but after putting almost 10,000 miles on it, I crave more power. I think a Vmax is in my future.

It's not the people on expensive bikes that should be laughed at.

It's the people on expensive bikes who trailer them to Sturgis, or near, who merit derision.
